Stephen N. Barnes
Principal

Stephen Barnes is responsible for the development and construction at Alpha-Barnes, is involved in the finance, consulting and strategic structuring of Alpha-Barnes management activities, and is an officer and owner in the Alpha-Barnes’ and Barnes Real Estate asset entities.

Stephen began his real estate career in 1984 as a licensed broker in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. During the 90’s and early 2000’s, Stephen financed, developed and/or constructed assets in excess of $210,000,000.

 

Stephen has successfully initiated eight acquisition/rehab residential communities, nine new-construction conventional apartment communities, and twelve commercial land transactions totaling over 250 acres, since beginning his development career in 1989.

In 1993, Stephen and Arthur Barnes completed the capitalization of a $13,500,000 Fund from seven national corporations across the United States to invest in Section 42 Tax Credit Housing partnerships in Texas.

Stephen is also a Principal in the management division of Alpha-Barnes which currently manages over 12,500 conventional and affordable housing units. The affordable housing units operate under the Section 42 Tax Credit Program, Historical Tax credits, New Market Tax Credits, and Bond programs. The Alpha-Barnes’ management resume is further enhanced by an insurance program developed by Stephen in November 2001 which offers the owners of Alpha-Barnes’ managed properties extensive coverage at considerable saving.

  • Deacon and teacher for the Park Cities Baptist Church since 1990. Presently participating in the Construction Committee overseeing a $33 million construction project for the church.
