Ted Jefferson came to Alpha-Barnes after a long and impressive career in the Housing Authorities of Dallas and Charlotte, North Carolina.

In 1981 Ted joined the Dallas Housing Authority where he remained until 1994 when he
moved to the Charlotte Housing Authority as Vice President of Housing Operations.

Desiring to return to the bigger challenges of the Dallas area, Ted returned to Dallas in 1996 and rejoined the Dallas Housing Authority as Senior Vice President in charge of housing managers, maintenance and resident services where he managed two-thirds of the over 400 employees of Dallas Housing Authority - (DHA).

His career and the accomplishments for the various departments he served are impressive. Ted’s major focus for the past 20+ years has been a desire to improve services and communication skills of the DHA by streamlining operations that serve the clients and residents in the Section 8 Program. Under his directive, a policies and procedures manual was developed, and a state-of-the-art computer system was installed, and under his direction DHA received a “high performer” evaluation from the Department of Housing and Urban Development in 1991 through 1993.
